American Guard Jeremy Smith (190-G-1991) put on an amazing game in the last round for UBSC Raiffeisen Graz, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old player was the main contributor (31 points, four rebounds and six assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Gmunden (#2, 18-6) 91-85. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. UBSC Graz is placed at 3rd position in Austrian BSL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. UBSC Graz will need more victories to improve their 16-8 record. In the team’s last game Smith had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be UBSC Graz‘s top player in his first season with the team. Former Nicholls State University star has very solid stats this year. Smith is in league’s top in points (9th best: 18.3ppg) and averages impressive 59.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was young American Austen Awosika (190-G-1998) of Coldmaris BBC Nord Dragonz Eisenstadt. Awosika had a very good evening with a double-double of 28 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Nord Dragonz to edge Timberwolves (6-18) in overtime 85-79. The Second Stage is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let’s wait for the next round. Awosika is a newcomer at Eisenstadt, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.4ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 6.1rpg and 4.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was international center Jozo Rados (206-C-1993) of BC Vienna (#8). Rados showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of BC Vienna, leading his team to a 111-80 easy win against Furstenfeld (#12, 1-23). Vienna needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 12 lost games. Rados has a great season in Austria. After 21 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 7.8rpg (8th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
