American Elijah Stewart (196-G-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Hapoel Yossi Avrahami Eilat and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 28-year old guard had the game-high 30 points adding seven rebounds for H.Eilat in his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Bnei Hertzeliya (#4, 10-6) 96-93. Hapoel Eilat is placed at 12th position in Israeli Winner League. The season is in a full swing, so it’s only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. H.Eilat have already lost 11 games and recorded just four victories. In the team’s last game Stewart had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Hapoel Eilat‘s top player in his first season with the team. University of Southern California graduate has very impressive stats this year. Stewart is league’s best scorer averaging so far 21.4ppg. Stewart is in league’s top in and averages solid 51.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young international power forward Tomer Ginat (202-PF-1994, agency: Avi Zilberman) of league’s best team Hapoel Shlomo Tel-Aviv. Ginat impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost that game 90-98 to the lower-ranked H.Holon (#7, 7-5). H.Tel-Aviv managed to keep the same 1st spot in the standings. His team has currently 11-3 record. Ginat is well-known by H.Tel-Aviv fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another H.Eilat’s star – American JaJuan Johnson (208-PF-1989). Johnson scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was another key player of Hapoel Yossi Avrahami Eilat, helping his team with a 96-93 win against the higher-ranked Bnei Hertzeliya (#4, 10-6). Hapoel Eilat can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-11 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Johnson has a very solid season. In 3 games in Israel he scored 19.3ppg.
