The Regular Season in U19 League just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Praha: Sokol Prazsky (#8) and Jizni Supi (#4). Sokol Prazsky (1-5) smashed visiting Jizni Supi (3-3) by 42 points 108-66. Sokol Prazsky forced 35 Jizni Supi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Jizni Supi’s players. Forward Petr Sovicek (200) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ondrej Hauzer (186) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Forward Marek Lizalek (191) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sokol Prazsky left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Jizni Supi at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Praha: USK (#6) and Jizni Supi (#4). Jizni Supi was smashed at home by 28 points 48-76 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Guard Matej Safarik (188-2003) notched 15 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and David Latal supported him with 9 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. USK’s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by forward Marek Lizalek (191) did not help to save the game for Jizni Supi. USK maintains sixth position in League with 1-4 record. Jizni Supi at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Praha. Their close opponent host Jizni Supi (3-3) lost to fourth ranked Slavoj (3-2) 66-51. It was a key game for the second position in League. The best player for the winners was Ondrej Chlupsa who scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Marek Lizalek produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the hosts. Slavoj moved-up to second place in League. Loser Jizni Supi dropped to the fifth position with three games lost.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 14:
In League NH Ostrava lost to Litomerice on the opponent’s court 65-77. Pelhrimov managed to outperform USK Praha in a home game 85-75. Sokol Prazsky lost to undefeated Basket Brno on the road 87-92. Orli Prostejov defeated Jizni Supi on its own court 78-69. Litomerice was smashed by Sokol Pisek in a road game 98-72. Basket Brno destroyed Pardubice at home 86-66. Holice unfortunately lost to Orli Prostejov on the opponent’s court 81-88.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists by Jakub Rytir of Orli Prostejov.

Litomerice – NH Ostrava 77-65

Rather expected game in Litomerice where 6th ranked Ostrava (3-3) was defeated by fourth ranked Slavoj (3-2) 77-65 on Tuesday. Slavoj forced 20 Ostrava turnovers. The best player for the winners was Petr Krupka (180-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Dominik Mascuch (191) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Adam Stiak (193) produced 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Adam Ivanek (190) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ostrava’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Slavoj moved-up to second place in League. Loser Ostrava dropped to the fourth position with three games lost.

Pelhrimov – USK Praha 85-75

Very predictable result when top-ranked Pelhrimov (7-0) defeated at home 6th ranked USK (1-4) 85-75 on Tuesday. Pelhrimov made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game, while USK only scored seven points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was guard Martin Kheil (190-2003) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Spanish forward Ian Granja (199-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Pelhrimov players scored in double figures. Pelhrimov’s coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Basket Brno – Sokol Prazsky 92-87

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Sokol Prazsky (1-5) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Basket Brno (6-0) 92-87 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Basket Brno dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sokol Prazsky’s 28. Basket Brno forced 24 Sokol Prazsky turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Simon Svoboda (194-2004) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Matej Rychtecky (190-2004) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds. The best player for the winners was Jakub Rytir (183-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Leonardo Varsik chipped in 25 points. Four Orli players scored in double figures. Guard Tomas Simaichl (155) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and guard Tomas Pietsch (181) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Jizni Supi’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Orli maintains seventh position in League with 2-2 record. Loser Jizni Supi dropped to the fifth place with three games lost.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Slavoj (3-2) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Sokol Pisek (2-4) 98-72 on Sunday. Sokol Pisek forced 19 Slavoj turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Slavoj’s players. The best player for the winners was forward Ondrej Chvala (186-2004) who scored 15 points and 9 assists. Forward Vladan Primak (185-2004) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Coach ‘s team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
