Bosnia and Herzegovina Center Kenan Kamenjas (207-C-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for KK Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Krka (#13, 3-13) 86-75. Buducnost maintains the 4th position in ABA League . They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Buducnost will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. In the team’s last game Kamenjas had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Kenan Kamenjas has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 9.7rpg. Kamenjas is in league’s top in and averages impressive 2.3spg and 57.9% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was young Serbian Uros Lukovic (213-C-1989) of KK Mornar-Barsko Zlato Bar. Lukovic had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Mornar cruised to a 86-78 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Zadar (#7, 8-8). Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Mornar managed to get this year. Lukovic is a newcomer at Mornar and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Shannon Shorter (193-SG-1989) of KK Split (#8). Shorter showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Split, leading his team to a 93-85 win against the higher-ranked Cedevita Ol. (#3, 11-5). The chances of Split ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Shorter could help Split to bring them higher in the standings. Shorter has a great season in ABA League. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 15.4ppg (7th best) and assists with 4.5apg (9th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
