We bring you last week’s top performances from Poles who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
   #1. This week’s number one is former international forward Mathieu Wojciechowski (200-1992, currently plays in France). He could not help Le Portel (3-1) in their last game. Despite Wojciechowski’s good performance Le Portel lost 84-88 at home to the lower-ranked (#5) SIG Strasbourg.
He scored 10 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes on the court.
This year Wojciechowski averages: 6.9ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 52.6%, 3FGP: 32.7% and FT: 65.7% in 20 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Polish and French.
Former WKS Slask Wroclaw starter played for the Polish senior national team year ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international forward Jeremy Sochan (206-2003, currently plays college basketball in the States). Sochan led Baylor to a victory against the Texas Christian University (6-8) 72-62 in the NCAA last Saturday.
He scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
The Baylor University has a solid 11-4 conference record this season.
There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Sochan’s overall stats this season are: 8.4ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.8apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 60.4%(58-96), 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 54.2%.
He is a naturalized American.
Sochan played for the Polish national team in 21.
Strangely he has never played in Poland.

   #3. The Polish player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Dominik Olejniczak (213-1996, college: FSU, currently plays in France). Olejniczak was not able to help Gravelines-Dunkerque in their game against Monaco (13-7) in the French Betclic ELITE ProA.
He scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes.
Gravelines-Dunkerque was badly defeated 82-66 on the road by the lower-ranked (#3) Monaco.
This year Olejniczak’s overall stats are: 6.3ppg, 4.9rpg, 2FGP: 58.5%(55-94) and FT: 71.4% in 20 games.
He played for the Polish national team year ago.

   #4. Forward Szymon Wojcik (206-1999, currently studies in the States) contributed to UMBC‘s victory against the University of Hartford (7-8) 92-85 in the NCAA on Wednesday night.
Wojcik recorded 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
The University of Maryland – Baltimore County has 9-7 conference record this season.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Wojcik’s total stats this season are: 6.2ppg and 2.9rpg.
He used to play for the Polish U16 national team
back in 15.
   #5. Former U18 international guard Damian Kruzynski (193-2003, currently plays in Slovenia) was not able to secure a victory for Ilirija (19-0) in their game against Krka (16-2) in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM.
Kruzynski recorded 5 points in 15 minutes.
The league leader Ilirija lost 74-86 on their home court in Ljubljana to the leading Krka.
The Regular Season already ended.
This year Kruzynski averages only 1.3ppg in seven games.
He used to play for the Polish U18 national team
years ago.

   #6. Forward Filip Siewruk (202-2002, currently plays in Spain) couldn’t help Villarrobledo (3-15) in their last game. Despite his good performance the 14th-placed Villarrobledo (3-15) lost 67-79 in Valencia to the higher-ranked (#10) Basket 2nd team in the East group.
Siewruk was the top scorer with 14 points. He also added 2 blocks in 27 minutes.
This year Siewruk’s total stats are: 5.5ppg and 2.3rpg in 18 games.
He is a former U20 international player as he played for the Polish team year ago.

   #7. Former U20 international center Szymon Zapala (211-2001, is currently at the American university) managed to help Utah State University to win against the University of New Mexico (3-11) crushing them 81-56 in the NCAA in Tuesday night’s game.
Zapala scored only 2 points, had 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks.
The Utah State University has 7-9 conference record this season.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season.
Zapala has averaged so far 1.8ppg and 2.2rpg.
He used to play for the Polish U20 national team
years ago.

   #8. Center Kuba Karwowski (218-1996, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to SHSU‘s victory against the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (1-12) 67-61 in the NCAA last Saturday.
Karwowski scored 7 points in only 12 minutes.
The Sam Houston State University has quite an impressive 8-1 conference record this season.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season.
Karwowski has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 2.2rpg in 28 games.
He used to play for the Polish U18 national team
back in 14.
   #9. Former U20 international small forward Nikodem Czoska (203-2002, currently plays in Italy) couldn’t help Cecina (6-13) in their game against Omegna (14-5) in the Italian Serie B (third division).
Czoska scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Cecina (#15) was badly defeated 77-60 on the opponent’s court by the much higher-ranked (#3) Omegna in the Group A.
It was Cecina’s third consecutive loss in a row.
Czoska has averaged so far 1.9ppg and 1.9rpg in 18 games.
He used to play for the Polish U20 national team
years ago.

   #10. Forward Marcin Wiszomirski (201-1998, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to an Mercyhurst University‘s surprising victory against the Edinboro University (1-11) crushing them 91-63 in the NCAA2 last Saturday.
Wiszomirski recorded only 3 points.
The Mercyhurst University has a solid 12-4 record this season.
This year Wiszomirski averages just 1.6ppg.
He is a former U16 international player as years ago he still played for the Polish national team.

   #11. An experienced former international forward Konrad Tota (196-1980, college: Dickinson St., currently plays in Germany) couldn’t help Dorsten in their game against Herford in the German Regionalliga (fourth division).
Tota scored 6 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 18 minutes.
His team lost 78-88.
Tota has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.3apg in four games.
Despite he played previously for the Canadian university national team, Tota is currently in the Polish national team roster.

The list of other players, who all have Polish passport but never been selected to any of Polish national teams:

   #1. Oskars Hlebovickis (196-SF-2000, currently plays in LAT-EST BL) could not help Liepaja (4-16) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Hlebovickis’ good performance Liepaja was defeated 87-81 on the road by the much higher-ranked TalTech (#5).
He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
There are only four games left until the end of the Lat-Est BL Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Hlebovickis’ total stats this season are: 6.2ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.2apg.
He has a dual citizenship: Latvian and Polish.
Despite Hlebovickis’ Polish passport, he previously played for the Latvian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Polish team.

   #2. Nimrod Tishman (197-PG-1991, agency: Avi Zilberman, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona in a victory against the closely-ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (6-10) 88-72 in the Israeli Winner League last Sunday.
Tishman scored only 4 points in 18 minutes.
Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (8-8) is placed eighth in the Winner League.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Tishman’s total stats are: 4.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.8apg in 16 games he played so far.
He is another player who holds two passports: Polish and Israeli.

   #3. Pawel Robak (185-SG-1996, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Andujar (3-0) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Robak’s very good performance the first-placed Andujar (3-0) was edged 83-80 on the opponent’s court by the much lower-ranked Penarroya (#12) in the Group D-A.
He was the top scorer with 16 points.
The Regular Season already ended.
Robak’s total stats this season are: 9.1ppg and 2.9rpg.

   #4. Yehonatan Yam (182-PG-1999, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a Ramat Hasharon‘s victory against the ninth-ranked M.Raanana (10-11) 87-74 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night.
Yam scored 9 points and added 5 passes.
Ramat Hasharon (16-5) is placed third in the National League.
It was his team’s fifth consecutive victory in a row.
Yam has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.8apg.
He has both Israeli and Polish nationalities.

   #5. Experienced Krzysztof Kawalek (196-F-1986, currently plays in Austria) helped Furstenfeld Panthers win their game against the fifth-ranked Mustangs (7-6) crushing them 82-54 in the Austrian 2.Bundesliga (second division) in Sunday night’s game.
He recorded only 2 points.
BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld Panthers (12-3) are placed first in Level East Conference.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season.
Kawalek has averaged so far 3.5ppg and 3.6rpg.

   #6. Maciek Klimaszewski (205-C-1995, currently plays in Iceland) was not able to secure a victory for Hamar in their game against Selfoss in the Icelandic D1 (second division).
He recorded 7 points in 15 minutes.
His team lost 81-94.
Klimaszewski has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.1apg in 18 games.
He also holds two passports: Polish and Icelandic.
Despite Klimaszewski’s Polish nationality, he previously played for the Icelandic U18 national team and probably cannot be called to the Polish team.
