Helios Suns Domzale (Liga Nova KBM) signed 29-year old American swingman Malcolm Bernard (198cm-88kg-1994, college: Xavier). He started the season at Pelister in North Macedonian Prva Liga. In 10 games he had 14.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 4.2apg and 1.6spg. He also played 7 games in ABA League where he recorded very impressive stats: 15.1ppg, 5.1rpg and 5.0apg.
In 2017 he was drafted by Grand Rapids Drive (G-League) in first round (13th overall).
The former Xavier University standout is in his seventh season in pro basketball.
Bernard is quite experienced player. He has played in nine different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Bernard has played previously professionally in Argentina (Argentino), Australia (Rockets, Bendigo Braves, Cavaliers and Melbourne Phoenix), Belgium (Leuven Bears), Finland (Nokia), Qatar (Al Khor), Russia (Novosybirsk and Ufimets Ufa), Slovenia (Rogaska), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold) and The Basketball Tournament (The Web).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Bernard’s team made it to the Big East Tournament Semifinals in 2017. He was voted to Eurobasket.com Slovenian League All-Defensive Team back in 2021. Bernard played for other colleges like: Florida A&M University, Charleston Southern University.
