The most surprising game was the first loss of E.Ashkelon (5-1) on the court of seventh ranked M.Raanana on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by M.Raanana 79-66. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of E.Ashkelon. It was a good game for swingman Dori Sahar (195-2001, agency: Avi Zilberman) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Yogev Ohayon (189-1987) contributed with 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. Swingman Eliad Tal (198-2002) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds for E.Ashkelon. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. M.Raanana (3-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with H.Kfar Qasem. E.Ashkelon at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. M.Raanana is looking forward to face Ramat Hash. (#11) in Ramat Hasharon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. E.Ashkelon will play at home against M.Haifa (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked E.Netanya (3-3) against eleventh ranked M.Ma’ale Adum. (2-3) on Tuesday night. Host E.Netanya was defeated by M.Ma’ale Adum. in a tough game in Netanya 64-71. Gil Noivitz (-2001) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ben Aken Matan chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Alon Michaeli (204-2005, agency: Avi Zilberman) with 11 points and 7 rebounds. E.Netanya’s coach Ruben Najberger rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. M.Ma’ale Adum. moved-up to ninth place. E.Netanya at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with H.Gilboa Galil and E.Shomron. M.Ma’ale Adum. will play against higher ranked E.Shomron (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. E.Netanya will play against M.Rishon in Rishon Le-Zion and hopes to get back on the winning track.

H.Kfar Qasem’s coach Hanan Hirshovitz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists by Daniel Gueta did not help to save the game for H.Gilboa Galil. H.Kfar Qasem moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Raanana. Loser H.Gilboa Galil keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with E.Netanya and E.Shomron. H.Kfar Qasem will meet higher ranked I.Nahariya (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. H.Gilboa Galil will have a break next round.

The most impressive performance of 6th round was 20 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by Omer Ben David of M.Rehovot.
Ramat Hash. – E.Shomron 80-87
Everything could happen in Ramat Hasharon at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked E.Shomron and 9th ranked Ramat Hash. had identical 2-3 record. But Ramat Hash. was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Shomron 87-80 on Friday night. E.Shomron made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Ramat Hash. outrebounded E.Shomron 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass.
