Donte DiVincenzo Assigned to G-League and Could Return In December

The Milwaukee Bucks (15-9) have certainly turned things around since their 6-8 start to the season, going 9-1 in their last 10 games. With an encouraging stretch of games and recent acquisitions of DeMarcus Cousins and Wesley Matthews, Bucks fans received more cause to anticipate continued success as The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that Donte DiVincenzo is nearing a possible December return.

The 2021 champion hasn’t played since tearing a ligament in his left ankle during the Bucks’ first-round matchup against the Miami Heat in May of 2021. DiVincenzo broke out last season, starting 66 games and averaging 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game.

However, with the emergence of Grayson Allen in the starting lineup, DiVincenzo will have the ability to be eased back into the roster when the time comes, contributing significant minutes off the bench.

In the meantime, DiVincenzo will be suiting up for the Bucks G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, as he inches closer to his return date.

Both DiVincenzo and Brook Lopez – who’s remained out since the season opener with a lower back injury – are Milwaukee’s most anticipated returnees from injury.

The Herd’s next game will be this Sunday against the Cleveland Charge.
