LEB Silver Regular Season is still in too early stage and there may be still significant changes in the standings. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Prat (2-1) on the court of L’Hospitalet on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by L’Hospitalet 90-84. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Prat helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Joan Pardina (202-1993) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Albert Homs (200-1994) helped adding 18 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Croatian forward Michael Ruzic (206-2006) with 16 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Prat’s coach Albert Canellas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. L’Hospitalet is looking forward to face Benicarlo in Castellon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prat will play at home against Alginet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very significant was Palma BM’s (#3) 72-61 road victory against Sant Antoni. It was an exceptional evening for center Sergio Mendiola (207-1996) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Arminas Urbutis accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. Brazilian center Vinicius da Silva (212-2001) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Sant Antoni in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Palma BM will play against Santfeliuenc (#11) in Sant Feliu in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sant Antoni will play on the road against Mataro UE (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in S’Arenal between Benicarlo and Palma. Benicarlo (3-0) got a very close victory on the road over Palma (1-2). Benicarlo managed to escape with a 3-point win 68-65 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Pedro Garcia who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Benicarlo’s coach Adrian Alonso used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Milan Suskavcevic who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. Benicarlo will meet at home L’Hospitalet (#4) in the next round. Palma will play against Godella in Valencia and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: winless Godella lost to Santfeliuenc on the opponent’s court 62-78. Alginet managed to outperform Tarragona in a home game 63-57. Cartagena managed to beat Salou on the road 98-84. Gran Canaria 2 defeated Mataro UE on its own court 76-70. Ponferrada beat Melilla in a road game 84-76. Zamora destroyed Huesca at home 89-58. Zornotza unfortunately lost to Iraurgi SB on the opponent’s court 75-77. Huelva Com. recorded a loss to La Roda in a home game 69-78. Huelva CD defeated Almansa on the road 89-75. Moron beat Alcala on its own court 71-67. Albacete won against Algeciras in a road game 71-61.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by Alejandro Marin of Albacete.



Group East

Santfeliuenc – Godella 78-62

Santfeliuenc used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Valencia 78-62 on Saturday night. Santfeliuenc outrebounded Godella 44-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Guim Exposito (197-1994, agency: Promo Sport ID) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Jaume Zanca (195-1997) chipped in 19 points. Four Santfeliuenc players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Diego Rivas (198-2003) who recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Sergio de Larrea (197-2005) added 15 points respectively.
