Anthony Edwards Has No Player Option In Extension, Can’t Become Free Agent Until 2029

Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves agreed to a five-year, $260 million extension on Day 2 of free agency and the deal does not contain a player option for Year 5.

Edwards will not be eligible for free agency until 2029 and that scenario would only apply if he doesn’t sign another extension.

Edwards will have to qualify for an All-NBA team this coming season to receive the full amount.
