The most exciting game of round 29 in the VTB-Youth League took place in Minsk. Belarusian point guard David Mukete (188-2006) stepped up and scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and forward Vitaly Duchko (197-2006) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Minsk’s coach Dmitriy Koltunov used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Center Ivan Kasyanov (205-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds. Minsk moved-up to seventh place. Samara-2 at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with UNICS-2 and Lokomotiv-2. Minsk are looking forward to face Avtodor-2 (#12) in Saratov in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samara-2 will play on the road against Khimki-2 (#3) and is hoping to win this game.

Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA-2 keeps a position of league leader, which they share with CSKA-Junior. Defending champion Zenit-2 dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
VTB-Youth League top team – CSKA-Junior (18-4) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Enisey-2 (1-21) in Krasnoyarsk 75-58. The best player for the winners was Nikolay Natcvlishvili who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Egor Skuratov produced 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CSKA-Junior have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-4 record, which they share with MBA-2. Enisey-2 lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 29: Avtodor-2 lost to Khimki-2 on the opponent’s court 68-82. Lokomotiv-2 unfortunately lost to N.Novgorod-2 in a home game 73-83. Uralmash-2 recorded a loss to Parma-2 on the road 84-94.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 44 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by Ivan Egorov of Parma-2.


Khimki-2 – Avtodor-2 82-68

Very expected game when 12th ranked Avtodor-2 (6-16) was defeated on the road by third ranked Khimki-2 (17-5) 82-68 on Wednesday. Khimki-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Avtodor-2‘s 30. They outrebounded Avtodor-2 39-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Arseniy Ivankov (193-2005) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Andrey Bovduy (200-2005) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Khimki-2 players scored in double figures. Center Anton Suschik (210-2005) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and Rinat Gafiev (197-2005) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimki-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 17-5 record behind leader CSKA-Junior. Avtodor-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 16 games lost. Khimki-2 will meet at home Samara-2 (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Avtodor-2 will play against Minsk (#7) and hope to secure a win.

The best player for the winners was Georgiy Shilokhvostov (190-2005) who scored 20 points. Vladimir Semenchenko (193-2005) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Ilya Grushevskiy (194-2005) produced 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and center Pavel Ryabkov (202-2006) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. N.Novgorod-2 moved-up to fourth place. Lokomotiv-2 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Samara-2 and UNICS-2. N.Novgorod-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lokomotiv-2 will play against UNICS-2 (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
