If you had asked me going into Sunday how I felt about Giannis Antetokounmpo, I would have told you I like him and that he is the 2nd best player in the world. If you ask me how I feel about Giannis in a few days, I’ll probably tell you the same thing
But right now, I am out on The Greek Freak. I am not a fan of his, because if Jaylen Brown is out on Giannis Antetokounmpo, then so am I.
“Giannis is a child, you know,” Brown said after the Celtics 113-107 comeback win on Sunday afternoon. “I’m just focused on helping my team get a win. And that’s what we did tonight.”
Jaylen is known to take things personally — we love that about him. It is what makes him so great. Giannis elbowed him in the face and then decided to burn him and it was lame.
There was no flagrant called on the elbow Giannis threw Brown (or when he stepped in Jayson Tatum’s landing zone). Yet, they called one when Brown pushed Giannis when he was driving to the hoop late in the game.
How was one of those a flagrant and the other not?
Look, I am always going to have Jaylen’s back and be on his side, he delivered Banner 18. If he asked me to jump, I’d say ‘how high?’
As a result, if he is out on Antetokounmpo, then so am I.
