After 4 rounds played we can already see who rules in the GBL and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Olympiacos (3-1) in Piraeus on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Panathinaikos (4-0) 78-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Olympiacos. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American Kendrick Nunn (194-1995, college: Oakland, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and American-Spanish point guard Lorenzo Brown (196-1990, college: NC State) who added 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Bulgarian forward Aleksandar Vezenkov (204-1995) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Olympiacos’ coach Georgios Bartzokas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Panathinaikos have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Olympiacos at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Panathinaikos are looking forward to face Promitheas (#4) in Patras in the next round. Olympiacos will play on the road against AEK Betsson in Athens and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Panionios (#6) and Maroussi (#7). Panionios (3-1) smashed visiting Maroussi (1-3) by 24 points 86-62. The winners were led by American guard Kendall Smith (190-1995, college: OK State) who scored that evening 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ryan Woolridge supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 8 points and 10 rebounds by international forward Lefteris Mantzoukas (207-2003) did not help to save the game for Maroussi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panionios moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Maroussi at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Kolossos HH. Panionios will play against bottom-ranked Lavrio (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maroussi will play against PAOK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked Lavrio (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Peristeri (3-1) 84-82 on Monday evening. Tobin Carberry fired 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Vasilis Mouratos produced 21 points and 7 assists for lost side. Lavrio’s coach Konstantinos Mexas tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. Peristeri have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lavrio still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Karditsas. Peristeri will meet Aris Midea (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Lavrio will play against Panionios (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: Aris Midea won against Kolossos HH on the opponent’s court 85-84. PAOK managed to outperform AEK Betsson in a home game 87-82. Winless Karditsas recorded a loss to Promitheas on the road 96-79.
