Defending champion AX Armani Exchange Milano (Serie A) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old Lithuanian international 213cm center Donatas Motiejunas for upcoming season. Motiejunas has played for the last three years at AS Monaco Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 24 games he recorded 7.5ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.1apg last season. He helped them to win the league title. Motiejunas also played 39 games in Euroleague where he averaged 8.8ppg and 3.4rpg. He contributed to his team making it to the quarterfinals.
In 2011 he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in first round (20th overall).
Motiejunas has been also a member of Lithuanian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Lithuanian senior team since 2010 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2010.
Motiejunas represented Lithuania at the FIBA Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament in San Juan (Puerto Rico) this year. His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.3ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 60.0%, 3PT: 50.0%, FT: 75.0%.
He is a very experienced player. Motiejunas has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in China (Motiejunasroes, Sharks and Flying Tigers), Poland (Arka), NBA (New Orleans Pelicans, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs), Italy (Benetton Treviso), Lithuania (Zalgiris, Atletas and Zalgiris Kaunas 2nd team) and NBA G League (RGV Vipers).
Among many awards he was voted to Asia-Basket.com Chinese CBA All-Imports Team back in 2021.
