Bursaspor Info Yatirim (BSL) signed 25-year old American guard PJ Pipes (188cm-88kg-1999, college: Santa Clara) for upcoming 2024-25 season. Pipes is the second import player in the roster as Serbian Alexandre Gavrilovic signed here earlier.
He played last season at VEF Riga in Latvian LBL league. He managed to play in five leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 8 LBL games he was league’s fifth best scorer with impressive 16.0ppg and averaged 4.0rpg, 4.1apg (top 2) and 1.0spg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. 2023-24 was a great season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Latvian LBL Guard of the Year. Pipes also played 15 games in Lat-Est BL where he had very remarkable stats: 17.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.9apg and 1.3spg. The other team he played that season for was Legia in Polish OBL. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 17 Polish OBL games he recorded 8.5ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.7apg. He also played 8 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 11.9ppg, 2.3rpg and 4.0apg. Pipes also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 4.5ppg, 2.0rpg and 4.0apg.
He has played previously professionally in Czech Republic (USK Praha) and The Basketball Tournament (Living the Dream).
Pipes graduated from Santa Clara University in 2022 and it will be his third season as a professional player. He played also for University of Wisconsin – Green Bay for 4 years.
