Sixers star Joel Embiid has highest scoring average of active centers


When one looks around the NBA, one sees many talented players at the center position. Among them are big man Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

All three have had an effect on the game of basketball and a great deal of individual success on the floor. Embiid and Jokic have battled for the MVP award in recent seasons. Towns helped make Minnesota relevant in a stacked Western Conference.

In terms of active centers, Embiid has the highest scoring average: 26 points per game. Towns comes in at 23.2 and Jokic at 19.7 per game.

Although the big fella has put up huge numbers, he hasn’t been able to power Philadelphia past the second round in his career. The hope now is that he and James Harden can help the Sixers win the Larry O’Brien trophy.
