Paul George and Klay Thompson have given big props to an up-and-coming youngster while naming their best shooters in the league.
There are plenty of talented shooters in the NBA today and Thompson and George were compiling a list on PG-13’s podcast recently.
George naturally named Damian Lillard, as well as Bradley Beal as two guards that he thinks are the best shooters in the game.
As for a forward, George went deep in his bag and named Sacramento’s Keegan Murray.
“He’s elite at the three-pointer,” George said of Murray on Podcast P with Paul George. “Such an early. And hopefully this isn’t just one of those one-offs where he just has a hell of a regular season – but he’s got a cannon. He can shoot the sh*t out of it. Big wing.”
Thompson is more than qualified to give his opinion on the matter as one of the greatest shooters the game’s ever seen, and he agreed with George on his pick.
“He was great in the playoffs,” Thompson said of Murray. “For a rookie, that’s a lot to make that impact. Couldn’t leave him [open]. I measure a guy, like how comfortable you feel leaving him open. I don’t feel comfortable leaving Murray open. It’s going in, you know?”
PG-13 added, “Even if he’s semi-[open], he’s cashing it.”
Last season, Murray broke the NBA’s rookie three-point record, surpassing Donovan’s Mitchell’s 2018 effort of 187 by making 206 three-pointers.
As well as breaking records and playing a vital role in breaking the Kings’ 17-year playoff drought, Murray was named in last season’s All-NBA Rookie First Team.
No doubt he will be looking to build upon last season with a Kings team that has changed very little this offseason.
