American Jimmy Hall (203-PF-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league’s second-best H.Afula and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents National League Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 24 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat H.Hevel Modi’in (#14, 0-6), the league’s bottom-ranked team 83-73. H.Afula maintains the 2nd position in Israeli National League. They are still close to the very top. H.Afula would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Hall turned to be H.Afula’s top player in his first season with the team. Kent State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hall is in league’s top in points (5th best: 18.2ppg) and averages solid 53.9% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American forward Al’Lonzo Coleman (203-F-1989) of M.Rehovot. Coleman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. Of course M.Rehovot cruised to a 79-70 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked M.Ramat Gan (#6, 3-3). This victory allowed M.Rehovot to move up to 10th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 2-4 record. Coleman is a newcomer at M.Rehovot and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.
The third best performed player last round was Rom Geffen (193-PG-1994) of M.Raanana (#7). Geffen scored 22 points and passed eight assists. Despite Geffen’s great performance M.Raanana lost 80-90 to the higher-ranked M.Rishon (#3, 5-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing M.Raanana needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 3 victories and 3 lost games. Geffen has a very solid season. In 6 games in Israel he scored 9.7ppg. He also has 5.2rpg, 4.3apg and and 3PT: 41.7%.

7. Isaiah Cousins (193-G-1994) of M.Rishon – 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Kevin Capers (188-G-1993) of M.Ramat Gan – 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Admon Gilder (193-G-1995) of M.Haifa – 24 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Al-Wajid Aminu (201-PF-1998) of E.Netanya – 16 points and 8 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
