HydroTruck (9-1) recorded its first loss in Tychy on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked GKS (8-2) 98-96. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of HydroTruck. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. GKS made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. GKS had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Power forward Patryk Kedel (201-1999) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kacper Makowski (196-1999) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Kaheem Ransom (186-1993, college: SHSU) produced 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for lost side. GKS moved-up to second place, which they share with Starogard Gd. and Dziki Wwa. HydroTruck at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. GKS is looking forward to face Polonia (#17) in Bytom in the next round which should be an easy win for them. HydroTruck will have a break next round.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Dziki (8-2) against fourth ranked Kociewskie Diably (8-2) on Thursday night. Visiting Dziki was crushed by Kociewskie Diably in Starogard Gdanski 91-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Dziki. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Filip Malgorzaciak (192-1993) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 assists. Damian Janiak contributed with 20 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Kociewskie Diably’s coach Kamil Sadowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Alan Czujkowski (199-1990) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Dziki. Kociewskie Diably have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Tychy and Dziki Wwa. Kociewskie Diably will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dziki will play at home against Decka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Pelpin between Kotwica and Decka. Sixth ranked Kotwica (7-3) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Decka (3-7). Kotwica managed to escape with a 3-point win 77-74 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Mikolaj Kurpisz scored 8 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Kotwica’s coach Rafal Frank used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Thomas Davis responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Kotwica moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Walbrzych. Loser Decka keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Kotwica will meet at home Miast Szkla (#8) in the next round. Decka will play against Dziki (#3) in Warszawa and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Lublin 2 was crushed by Koszalin in a road game 114-72. Walbrzych beat Krakow at home 86-70. WKK Wroclaw lost to Opole on the opponent’s court 59-70. Polonia W-wa managed to outperform Poznan in a home game 69-59. Bytom recorded a loss to Zgorzelec on the road 97-80. Krosno crushed Slask 2 on its own court 91-65.

Koszalin – Lublin 2 114-72

There was no surprise in Koszalin where 17th ranked Start 2 (1-9) was crushed by seventh ranked Zak (6-4) 114-72 on Wednesday. Zak dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2’s 50. Zak forced 23 Start 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 35-20 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Naturalized American Artur Labinowicz (193-1997, college: Evansville) scored 25 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Mateusz Itrich (202-1997) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Zak players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Michal Grzesiak (193-2004) responded with 21 points and guard Wiktor Kepka (194-2003) scored 16 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zak maintains seventh position with 6-4 record. Loser Start 2 dropped to the bottom place with nine games lost. They share the position with Bytom. Zak will meet Slask (#10) in the next round. Start 2 will play against Gornik (#5) and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game in Walbrzych where fifth ranked Gornik (7-3) defeated 11th ranked SGH (4-6) 86-70 on Wednesday.
