Paulius Murauskas
Forward Paulius Murauskas (203-F-2004) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Lietkabelis, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 18-year old player was the main contributor (15 points, eight rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Siauliai (#11, 0-2), the league’s bottom-ranked team 88-85. It allowed Lietkabelis to take over top position in the Lithuanian LKL. The season is still on an early stage, but Lietkabelis already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. Murauskas turned to be Lietkabelis’ top player in his first season with the team. Paulius Murauskas has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in rebounds (9th best: 6.3rpg) and averages impressive 94.1% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was young international guard Margiris Normantas (194-G-1996) of league’s second-best Rytas. Normantas had a very good evening with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Rytas to another comfortable win outscoring Neptunas (0-2) 93-67. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Normantas is well-known at Rytas and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.7ppg (#8).
Third on the list of top players last round was international center Laurynas Birutis (213-C-1997) of Zalgiris (#3). Birutis scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Zalgiris, leading his team to a 91-66 easy win against Prienai CBet (#12, 0-3). Zalgiris started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Birutis turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Birutis has a very solid season. In 3 games in Lithuania he scored 12.3ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
