Montrezl Harrell joined the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent prior to last season after three years with city rivals the Clippers. The 27-year-old center arrived as reigning Sixth Man of the Year, the award which he shared with his teammate Lou Williams.
He joined the Lakers with high expectations from both his side as well as that of the team. However, the end result was less than satisfactory. Harrell even thinks he lost a year.
“I didn’t really get to be utilized how I wanted to be last year. I damn near felt like I had a season off,” he said of the season with the Lakers, per Chase Hughes.
This past season Harrell played 69 games of which he started 1 for the Lakers averaging 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
