Former league MVP Russell Westbrook, renowned for his triple-double prowess, is embracing a new chapter, emphasizing his defensive capabilities in a season where he’s taken on a bench role for the Clippers.
The 35-year-old, averaging 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 24.1 minutes per game this season, declared, “Ain’t too many people defending better than me at this point if we keeping it honest,” as reported by Andrew Greif.
Westbrook, known for his passionate play, asserts his defensive contributions amid a shift in his role.
Asking if making an All-Defensive Team would validate him, Westbrook replied, “I don’t need it but unfortunately I haven’t had one because I don’t know. I’ve been very deserving of it.”
