Washington Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. was wowed by Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren during Monday’s 136-128 home loss (31 points/4 rebounds/5 assists/2 blocks/11-14 FG/4-5 3-PT/5-8 FT).
(via Washington Wizards):
“Very unique skillset for a guy with his length and size. Obviously he can shoot, shooting just under 40 (percent) on the year from three. But his ability to put it on the floor, that’s a tough guard for anybody. Obviously you try to pose switches, he’ll get more comfortable as he gets a little stronger, but just his versatility, length and size of course at the rim defensively, moves his feet better than I actually thought. But he’s got a really good feel for that pick-and-roll, playing the two-man game in drop coverage, it’s very difficult with a guy that size and who of course can block shots late.”
