NBA players have been warned over breaching quarantine rules in Toronto if they are unvaccinated, with imprisonment and hefty fines a possibility. That is according to The Athletic, who cites sources claiming players will be criminally liable should they leave their hotel for anything other than team activities.
All players must pass a PCR test before traveling to Toronto during the course of the 2021/22 season, whether or not they have received a COVID-19 vaccine, per the NBA’s health and safety protocols. As for Canada, the country’s Quarantine Act makes it so that violations could see persons imprisoned for up to six months while fines of up to $750,000 could also be handed out.
