Andrew Nembhard’s step-back 3 from 31ft was the difference … off a Nesmith offensive rebound.
And Turner had a massive chase-down block.
Pacers win 111-106, outscoring Knicks 22-8 over the final 9:45. Haliburton scored 35. Haliburton scored 35.

The Knicks are trying to get Haliburton to guard Brunson. The Pacers are using a show-and-recover, as well as hitting the switch, to keep Haliburton out of that matchup.

A sweep is in play. The Knicks have a 90-85 lead over the Pacers entering the fourth quarter.
Knicks won the 3rd quarter, 32-22.
DiVincenzo: 6/8 3PT, 32 points
Haliburton: 11/20 FG, 28 points
Can’t imagine the Pacers would have any confidence in Game 4 if they lose tonight. – 8:58 PM

Haliburton and DiVincenzo missed being teammates in Sacramento by just a couple days. Apparently would have made the Splash Brothers the second-best shooting backcourt in Northern California. – 8:50 PM

Most amazing confidence tonight is not Haliburton with 23 points in the first half, but archer on the court at halftime firing arrows while doing splits and hanging on one hand with no backdrop to catch an errant shot from killing someone in the front row. – 8:18 PM

Indiana clinging to a 63-58 lead at the break behind 23 points from Haliburton. The #Knicks shooting .538 overall and .615 from deep, so it’s fair to wonder if that #Pacers lead is sustainable. – 8:15 PM

Tyrese Haliburton scored 23pts (five 3s) to help the Pacers to a halftime lead … but it’s just five: 63-58 v undermanned Knicks.
Feels like it’s much more.
They shot 55%. Nesmith did a better job on Brunson. Good guard play from NYK, especially DiVincenzo (15). – 8:15 PM

Tyrese Haliburton has *checks notes* 23 points here in the first half. Pacers lead Knicks, 55-49. Haliburton is 5/10 from 3-point range. An offense unto himself, as Thibs likes to say. – 8:06 PM

LOL Aaron Nesmith was celebrating a steal just before halftime and Knicks got it back right by him, and he didn’t realize. Isaiah Jackson saves the day with a stop at the time — that could have looked worse than it ended up.
Pacers up 28-20 after one. 10 points for Haliburton. – 7:38 PM

Just the fast, energetic start the Pacers needed, led by Haliburton (8pts).
Remember, they have not been a fast-starting team.
They’ve pulled ahead 20-8, Jalen Brunson is on the bench and didn’t look comfortable after 0/3 start (guarded by Nesmith). – 7:29 PM

In speaking with the media for seven minutes, Haliburton said he’d “be better” on 13 different occasions. Clearly the theme of the preparation for Game 2. But Haliburton is dealing with back spasms and remains listed as questionable on the injury report for Game 2, as he was entering the series. He is planning to play, but the injury may be affecting him more than he is letting on. His aggression has noticeably been reduced since his back, which he’s had occasional issues with since he was in high school, flared up recently. “At this time of year everybody’s got something going and he’s working at it, doing everything he can to keep himself feeling as good as possible,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “I’m confident he’ll play, but it’s a concern.” -via ESPN / May 7, 2024
“I erred on the side of playmaking…and that wasn’t the right decision for me,” Haliburton said Tuesday following the team’s practice. “I still got to be who I am, but yeah, I’ll just be better tomorrow.” -via ESPN / May 7, 2024
