Former NBA player Wally Szczerbiak who works as a color analyst for the Knicks on MSG Network recently made a strong comment about Tyrese Haliburton.

After the game between New York and Indiana, he called the Pacers point guard a ‘wannabe All-Star.’ Szczerbiak was an NBA All-Star himself in 2002.

The Knicks won the game 109-106 as Haliburton scored 15 points and dished out 10 assists. Taylor Rooks asked the former first round pick about Szczerbiak’s comment.

“I have no clue,” Haliburton said. “I know the name Wally Szczerbiak, I couldn’t tell you where he played. I couldn’t tell you what he did as a basketball player.

“I don’t know, he had a lot to say about me. I was really questions, like, first, who is this? And why is he talking like that?

“I don’t know if I ever came out and said ‘I wanna be an All-Star this year. Please vote for me!’ I don’t think I’ve done that. I think he was just excited about a Knicks win, and that got him going.

“He’s just doing whatever he can to get attention. And that’s just the media these days.”

Haliburton is averaging 19.5 points, 4 rebounds and 10.7 assists in 33.4 minutes per game for Indiana this season.
