Tyler Herro will miss the Miami Heat’s fixture vs. the Dallas Mavericks this week due to a right knee contusion, per the Miami Herald. The Sixth Man of the Year candidate returned to the Heat lineup to play the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday after missing two games but is set to be an absentee when his team hosts Dallas on Tuesday.
The third-year man, who leads the NBA in bench scoring with a 20.0 point per game average, had missed the two games prior to the game against Brooklyn with knee soreness. He scored 15 points on 4-11 shooting from the field and 7-7 from the charity stripe in 23 minutes during Saturday’s win and only managed 2:56 minutes in the fourth quarter. Herro leads Miami in fourth-quarter minutes this season with 9.6 per game.
An MRI on his knee revealed a contusion and no structural damage.
Meanwhile, Miami could be without their All-Star Jimmy Butler, who has been ruled as questionable due to a right shoulder strain. Caleb Martin has also been listed as questionable with left Achilles soreness while Markieff Morris and Victor Oladipo remain out.
