Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro found himself at the center of trade discussions when the Heat pursued a deal for Damian Lillard. However, the Trail Blazers did not show interest in acquiring Herro.
Ultimately, Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, ending months of trade speculations. Herro, who had been part of the trade package offered by the Heat, expressed relief that the Trail Blazers did not want him.
In a recent interview with Ira Winderman of South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Herro clarified his feelings.
“I didn’t want to go to Portland, so I’m glad Portland didn’t want me,” he said. “I just don’t want to be in Portland. So it’s not personal with Portland, at all.”
The situation appears to have brought closure for both parties, with Herro remaining a key part of the Heat roster.
