The regular season wrapped up on Sunday afternoon with a Boston Celtics win over the Washington Wizards. Led (once again) by Payton Pritchard, the Celtics overwhelmed a Wizards crew that was itching to get their brutal season over and done with.
But the game itself wasn’t the main story on Sunday. Instead, Mike Gorman earned the spotlight, and rightfully so. The Boston legend called his final regular season game, and TD Garden showed him all the love in the world.
Let’s look at three things you might have missed.
1. Mike Gorman Day festivities
All of this will have been covered already, but the sentiment cannot be described enough—Gorman is a Celtics legend. In an organization with Larry Bird, Bill Russell, Red Auerbach, and so many others, Gorman stands amongst the greats.
A lot of tears in this building as Mike Gorman closes his halftime farewell with the perfect final line.

After 43 seasons of work, Gorman will be hanging up his metaphorical cleats after this year. And every time a new tribute video was shown on the jumbotron at TD Garden, they panned to him, and you could see the tears starting to form.
An amazing career, an amazing broadcaster, and an amazing human. Gorman deserved all the appreciation he received on Sunday.
2. Svi Mykhailiuk’s day
Payton Pritchard’s 38-point near-triple-double (one rebound shy) was impressive, but he had 30 on Friday. This was the Svi Mykhailiuk Show.
Mykhailiuk, known for his three-point shooting, got to show off his elite athleticism thanks to a sweet lob from Pritchard. He threw down a two-hand jam over Anthony Gill, who foolishly tried to jump with the Celtics wing.
He also sent Gill packing with a nifty pass-fake.
Maybe Mykhailiuk and Gill have some beef the public doesn’t know about because the former made the latter look silly all night long.
3. Beautiful ball movement
That’s all that needs to be said. Just watch and enjoy.
