After Boston secured Banner 18, Celtics fans have been blessed with endless opportunities to celebrate and relive a glorious season. Between the parade, several docuseries and upcoming Ring Night, there is a wealth of content to enjoy. As the victory lap continues, ESPN+ is treating us to another series with the introduction of ‘Clutch: The NBA Playoffs’.
This series is not entirely Celtics-focused, but as the season’s eventual winner, they will play a large role in the overall narrative. The theme and name of the opening episode is Changing of the Guard, where the new era of players are ready to prove that it’s their time. Boston isn’t highlighted in this one, as the focus is around the Play-In Tournament. However, the episode concludes with a look at Kristaps Porzingis preparing in the Celtics facilities:

As the series unfolds, Celtics players will likely continue to make cameos. Based on the descriptions, the first in-depth look at the team will come in Episode 3: Killer Instinct.
“Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics finished with the best regular-season record in the league, but questions linger about their championship pedigree.”
This episode is set to release tonight at 9 p.m. ET and will cover the first round of the NBA Playoffs. We should expect to see a behind-the-scenes look at Boston knocking off the Miami Heat after losing to them in the ECF the previous season.
The following episode, Hunter vs. Hunted drops on Sun, Oct 13, 2024 at 4 p.m. ET. Moving on to a second round matchup vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers, this episode pits Donovan Mitchell’s success as a playoff riser against the Celtics quest to prove they have what it takes.
“The pressure is intense for the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray and the Cavs’ Donovan Mitchell to sustain their reputations as elite playoff performers. Expectations are high in Boston where unproven second-year coach Joe Mazzulla is determined to show he’s worthy of leading this storied franchise.”
It’s safe to say Mazzulla proved himself worthy, and then some.
Episode 6: Redemption, is an incredibly fitting name as it explores the Celtics return to the Eastern Conference Finals. This episode is scheduled for Wed, Oct 16, 2024 at 7 p.m. ET.
“The core members of the Celtics are driven by the chance to overcome past disappointments and live up to the history of ‘Titletown’.”
As the playing field is narrowed down to the final four teams, Episode 7: Beyond The Game seems to take a more personal route, covering the emotions and storylines taking place outside of the arena.
“Celtics’ All-Star Jaylen Brown strives to leave a lasting legacy in Boston, while Mavericks’ rookie Dereck Lively reflects on his teammates’ support after his mother’s passing. Lively’s coach Jason Kidd channels his time-honored connection with Dallas, while his counterpart in Boston, Joe Mazzulla, reckons with his first brush with NBA greatness.”
This episode airs on Sunday, Oct 20, 2024 at 1 p.m. ET, leading directly into the finale; Episode 8: Finally.
“After 6 grueling weeks of playoff basketball, The NBA Finals are here. Celtics duo Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown zero in on an 18th championship banner for their city, supported by the veteran leadership of Al Horford, who might only have one last chance to win a title. Meanwhile, in his inaugural Finals appearance, transcendent talent Luka Doncic fights to keep pace with Boston’s explosive offense.”
We may know how the story ends, but revisiting this journey will never get old.
