OPENING WEEK

The NBA script writers have done a perfect job of opening night. Couldn’t have written the schedule better with a must-watch doubleheader.

The first game features defending NBA champions Denver, who will be presented with their championship rings before hosting the Lakers in a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers have recruited well this offseason, so will be interesting to see how all the parts fit together and how amped LeBron will be in season 21.

The second game will be all eyes on, as it will be Chris Paul’s first game for the Dubs against his old team Phoenix.

Newcomers like Bradley Beal will get their first showing for the Suns, while Warriors fans will get to see if adding another one of the best point guards of all time will be the answer to last season’s woes and get them back into the championship conversation.

Three nights later, Miami will face Boston at The Garden and could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals once more.

Here’s hoping we get to see a healthy Kristaps Porzingis alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

We also may get to see Damian Lillard tearing it up with Himmy and Bam. Wouldn’t it be a sight to see!

DECEMBER 19: GRIZZLIES @ PELICANS

It looks like this game will be the first one Ja Morant is eligible to play in following his 25-game suspension for flashing a gun on social media.

He will go head to head against his 2016 draft class mate Zion Williamson and surely will have a point to prove.

If this isn’t the exact game Ja is back for, it would seem he will certainly be back before Christmas.

It will also mark the first time Morant, Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose will share the court as Grizzlies.

So many interesting things at play there.

DECEMBER 22: WIZARDS @ WARRIORS

The Jordan Poole revenge game will be UNMISSABLE and is one of the best games on the schedule.

He will have had a solid two months of basketball with Washington under his belt by this time. Enough to figure out a good combo with Kyle Kuzma.

And you just know Draymond Green will be extra mad and looking to cause trouble.

Let’s just hope there are some baddies sitting in the front row.

DECEMBER 25: CELTICS @ LAKERS

The historic rivalry continues and on Christmas Day no less!

Both teams will have a new-look and were disappointed with how they went out in the most recent postseason, so will be looking to perform strongly against a fellow Finals contender.

LeBron v Tatum is a matchup that we’re here for.

DECEMBER 25: WARRIORS @ NUGGETS

This will be a huge game marked on Steve Kerr’s calendar and it will be the dynasty up against the defending champs.

You just know Steph Curry will be up for this one and hopefully by this time will have figured out a good combination with Chris Paul.

Finals MVP Nikola Jokic will surely be at his best as well, getting away some unbelievable passes to his teammates.

Let’s just hope Michael Malone doesn’t start too early on in the season with the gloating if the home team do manage to come away the win – which won’t be easy.

DECEMBER 28: SPURS @ BLAZERS

This game marks the first time the overall number one draft pick Victor Wembanyama will face number two pick Scoot Henderson.

Both players will have hopefully already had their ‘welcome to the NBA moment’ by then and be ready to put on an absolute show.

No doubt these two will be vying for Rookie of the Year honors.

FEBRUARY 4: GRIZZLIES @ CELTICS

Will be the first time the beloved Marcus Smart will return to The Garden so it will be an emotional night for both teams.

Porzingis will have a point to prove and it will be interesting to see if Smart has managed to somewhat tame the wild Grizzlies by then.
