James Wiseman was recalled by the Warriors from the team’s G League affiliate the Santa Cruz Warriors before the game against the Jazz.
The 21-year-old center saw very limited time on the court as he played just 5 minutes off the bench for Golden State who lost the game 123-124.
During his time on the floor Wiseman scored 3 points and grabbed 2 rebounds. The former number two draft pick rarely gets opportunities to play big minutes in the NBA and head coach Steve Kerr thinks it’s better for the player to be in the G League.

“We’re just kinda taking it a day at a time depending on who’s healthy, how everything looks,” Steve Kerr said before Wednesday’s game of Wiseman’s status with Golden State. “The one thing I know for sure is that we need him to play. So if everyone’s healthy and we feel like we’re not gonna play him much in a game, we’d rather have him in Santa Cruz playing 35 minutes.”
This season Wiseman is averaging 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1 assist in 13.4 minutes per game for the Warriors.
