Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas exited early from their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night.
He did not return to the contest.
The Rockets informed reporters on the scene that Silas was dehydrated and needed to receive fluids back in the locker room.
Silas stood up from the bench during a break in the first quarter, and point assistant coach John Lucas to take over for him.
He walked off the court following his signal to Lucas.

Lucas coached the rest of the game for Houston, which ended in a 124-89 blowout loss for the Rockets to the Cavaliers in Cleveland.
He told reporters after the game that he spoke with Silas and that he was “ok.”
Silas did end up traveling with the team back to Houston and was on the sideline for their game against the New York Knicks on Thursday night.
“He’s OK. He’s better,” Lucas said. “They think he’ll be back tomorrow. … “I think he’ll be all right. I just talked to him. I think he looks good, so we’ll see.”
No further details regarding Silas’s health were provided.
Stephen Silas, 48, is in his second season coaching the Rockets after being hired to succeed Mike D’Antoni.
He currently coaches on the youngest rosters in the league and is tasked with leading the rebuilding process in Houston.
Silas previously spent 20 years as an assistant or associate head coach in the NBA, most recently being on Rick Carlise’s staff with the Dallas Mavericks.
