The NBA fined the Philadelphia 76ers $50,000 for violating its injury reporting rules concerning Joel Embiid’s status in Game 3.
The league ruled that the Sixers “failed to disclose center-forward Joel Embiid’s participation status in an accurate and timely manner.”
Embiid was listed as out as late as noon on Friday, then upgraded to doubtful at 12:30 pm.
Embiid, who started the game, finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in 36 minutes.
The Heat currently lead the series 2-1. Game 4 is on Sunday.
