Crvena Zvezda set a club record by making 17 three-pointers and dominated ASVEL Villeurbanne with a final score of 94-73 in the opening game of the 2023-24 EuroLeague season.
The Stark Arena was excited as the team’s numerous new players showcased their skills. Shabazz Napier led the charge with 21 points, including five successful three-pointers out of eight attempts.
Rokas Giedraitis contributed significantly with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists. At the same time, Marko Simonovic marked his return to the EuroLeague from the NBA with an impressive performance, scoring 14 points in his debut game.
“Great organization win. From the fans, who were incredible, from everybody who stepped on the floor, from the coaches. We brought it on together,” Napier said after the game.
“I’m excited. This is the first out of the many steps we have to take to become a great team. The atmosphere was just incredible… I couldn’t explain it.”
