FC Barcelona guard Dante Exum has been a great addition for the Catalans according to head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius. In the latest EuroLeague game against Bayern Munich, Exum was very impactful in a hard-fought victory against the German club.
The Australian guard scored all of his nine points in the last 13 minutes of the game while getting five rebounds in 17 minutes of play. Exum, who signed a contract with the Catalans on December, drained positive comments for his contribution from Saras.
“Due to many circumstances, he hasn’t had continuity, although for reasons that haven’t to do with him,” Saras stated recently per Mundo Deportivo (H/T to Eurohoops.net). “But we are delighted with him. This last game was an important step and I hope it gives him a lot of confidence.”
In nine EuroLeague games, the former Utah and Cleveland guard has averaged 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. His contract ends on Feb.28, and FC Barcelona will soon have to make a decision on the future of the Australian point guard.
“You have to make decisions and they will be made at the end of the contract,” Jasikevicius stated.
FC Barcelona is among the top teams in EuroLeague the last two seasons, and they continue chasing their rival Real Madrid in the 2021-22 EuroLeague standings.
