Russell Westbrook looked more like his usual self as he scored 30 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 6 assists against his former team the Houston Rockets. However, his performance was not enough as the Lakers fell in overtime.
Houston is at the bottom of the Western Conference while the Lakers are still hanging onto a play-in spot, though they are dangerously close to not even getting that.
According to Westbrook, every team in the league is giving its best against Los Angeles and that is to be expected, regardless of the record of the opposing team.
“They’re going to compete. They’re playing the Lakers… Regardless of any team’s record in this league you can be beat on any night,” the former NBA MVP said postgame.
