Rudy Gobert was voted the NBA’s most overrated player in a new poll from The Athletic, and his girlfriend Julia Bonilla is not happy about it all.
Bonilla made headlines when she launched a scathing attack on the poll result via Instagram.
“My partner is the most dedicated, focused, hard-working person I have ever met,” Bonilla said. “He hasn’t stolen anything from anyone and deserves all the respect for his determination and commitment to his career.”
“It’s hard for me to stay quiet in front of so much stupidity, disrespect and nonsense,” she added. “I am so proud of the person he is — fair, a great teammate, with a good heart and a strong mind.”
“I am proud of you, and our son is proud of you.”
Gobert being most the NBA’s most overrated player is arguably a little harsh, especially considering the vast improvements he’s made to his game this season.
Gobert’s increased versatility has also allowed the Timberwolves to bounce back in a major way from their disappointing 2022-23 season, to the point that they finished this season with 56 wins and the third seed in the Western Conference.
