Last week was the championship parade. In two weeks, next season starts in earnest at the NBA’s annual Summer League in Las Vegas.
The league announced the “regular season” schedule for the Celtics for the NBA 2K25 Summer League that starts on July 12th. The defending champs will face several familiar foes on the Strip (all times EST):
- Saturday, July 13 at 6:30 pm: Celtics vs. Heat (NBATV)
- Monday, July 15, 10:30 pm: Celtics vs. Lakers (NBATV)
- Wednesday, July 17 5:30 pm: Celtics vs. Hornets (NBATV)
- Friday, July 19, 4:30 pm: Celtics vs. Mavericks (ESPNU)
The team will most likely include the latest two draftees, Baylor Scheierman out of Creighton and Gonzaga’s Anton Watson, and sophomore Jordan Walsh. It’s unknown what Boston will do with former two-way players JD Davison and Drew Peterson as they head into restricted free agency, but their futures could be decided before the team heads out to the desert for the exhibition games.
The Summer League format is simple: the top four teams in terms of wins, losses, point differential, and total points will play in a two-round playoff on July 21 and July 22 with the other 26 teams playing a fifth consolation game. Last summer, the Celtics finished 2-3.
