Rival Teams Grumbling About Golden State’s Competitive Advantage On Spending

Rival teams have grumbled about the competitive advantage on spending held by the Golden State Warriors, sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN.

If the Warriors retain all of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II, their salary plus luxury tax penalties could hit $475 million in coming years.

The Warriors are paying a league-record $346 million in salary and tax this season.

The luxury tax penalties paid by the Warriors are spread out to teams who are not in the luxury tax.
