After a long wait, the Miami Heat can only be ecstatic on what Victor Oladipo can bring further in this season of futility.
As such, the franchise is ‘optimistic’ that the veteran might be able to don their jersey within the next two weeks after an extended rest due to quad rehabilitation (h/t Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN).
Recently, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra provided that Oladipo and forward Markieff Morris (neck) are doing much better now in terms of their recovery, but he claimed that their comeback remains nothing but imminent. But with this latest report about Oladipo, South Beach supporters are absolutely excited for greater things to come as the playoffs draws near.
Wojnarowski further pointed out that Oladipo joined the Heat on its current six-game road trip and is continuing to ramp up his activities.
Oladipo had a quad tendon surgery last 2019 as a member of the Indiana Pacers wherein he was sidelined for almost two seasons. He was landed by Miami in last season’s trade deadline from a transaction with the Houston Rockets. He re-injured his quad a month later and had a second surgery on May 13.
Oladipo, a two-time All-star and the 2018 league’s Most Improved Player, re-signed with the Heat for a one-year minimum deal last offseason. He has a career average of 17.5 points in 43.8 percent shooting, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 dimes.
