REPORT: Lakers Fully Guarantee Avery Bradley and Austin Reaves’ Contracts

According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the contracts that Avery Bradley and Austin Reaves signed became fully guaranteed at 2 p.m. PT. The Lakers fully guaranteeing the two deals means Bradley and Reaves will remain with the team.

Bradley previously played for the Lakers during the chaotic 2019-2020 season. He opted out of playing with LA in the NBA Bubble to help take care of his oldest son, who struggles with respiratory illness. Bradley subsequently declined to sign his player option with the Lakers, and he signed with Miami Heat, who then traded him, Kelly Olynk, and a 2022 draft to the Rockets for Victor Oladipo.

Bradley signed with the Warriors last offseason but was waived after playing four preseason games. The Lakers promptly brought him back off waivers in October, where he has played since. Bradley averages 6.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game with the Lakers this season.

Reaves has carved out a role as a rotational player contributing 5.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game as a rookie. The 23-year-old guard out of Oklahoma has been a Laker since signing a two-way contract after shining in the Summer League that was transformed to a multi-year deal. The second year of Reaves’ contract is under team control.

The Lakers return to action on Friday against the Hawks in the confines of Crypto.com Arena.
