There is a feeling that Immanuel Quickley will take a huge chunk of responsibility for the New York Knicks this forthcoming season.

Per Ian Begley of SNY, expectations are going in that Quickley will have an increased role for the club. The 23-year-old small guard standout is set to enter the third year of his professional career.

Quickley made a strong impression on the Knicks at the tail end of the last season, dropping three 20-point games and a pair of triple-doubles last season.

Though inconsistent, Quickley has been Tom Thibodeau’s wildcard off the bench in case of offensive spark plug urgency. He averaged 11.4 points, 2.8 assists, 2.7 boards in 39.3 percent shooting for the Knicks in the previous two regular seasons for 142 total games.

He is expected to back up both Derrick Rose and the newly-signed Jalen Brunson at the point. Meanwhile, that skilled scoring prowess can make him be slided at the two-guard occasionally.
