The WiZink Center witnessed a memorable evening as Real Madrid, the reigning EuroLeague champions, welcomed back their former player, Luka Doncic, along with the Dallas Mavericks from the NBA.
In an exhilarating 48-minute basketball showdown, the Spanish team clinched a 127-123 victory, much to the delight of the enthusiastic crowd in the heart of Spain.
This marked Real Madrid’s ninth encounter with NBA teams, securing their third victory overall.
Notably, it was their first triumph since 2016, a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, back when Doncic was still a key player for the European powerhouse.
Unfortunately, the Slovenian star played a limited role in this reunion match, spending less than five minutes on the court due to a calf injury but still managing to contribute nine points to the scoreboard.
“I’ve cheered up a bit because of the comeback, a bit too much. Comebacks are something special at Real Madrid; you can never count Real Madrid out, and they’ve seen it today,” Doncic assured the Mavs fans that his injury isn’t serious post-game.
“Yesterday, I felt discomfort and didn’t want to push it. But the injury is not anything serious.”
