Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz Team News
The Kings landed at No.20 in the latest NBA power rankings released by ESPN. Previously ranked 23rd last week, Sacramento jumped by three places following their close wins against the Phoenix Suns, 110-107, and the New Orleans Pelicans, 113-109. On Sunday, the team’s winning run ended at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, 105-99. Luka Doncic came two rebounds short of posting a triple-double (23 points, ten rebounds and eight assists). Meanwhile, Marvin Bagley III – the second overall pick of the same draft class as Doncic – recorded his fifth DNP-CD out of the Kings’ six games. ESPN writer Dave McMenamin best encapsulated Bagley’s tumultuous four-year tenure with the Kings:
“As if the 2018 NBA draft hasn’t haunted Kings fans enough, the fact that Luka Doncic put up 23 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds, while Marvin Bagley III picked up his fifth DNP-CD out of Sacramento’s six games this season only punctuated the pain,” McMenamin writes.
After posting terrific numbers in the past four games, Rudy Gobert has claimed Western Conference Player of the Week. The French big man played a vital role in the Jazz 3-1 slate this past week, averaging 16.3 PPG, 15.5 RPG, and 2.3 BPG in 31.1 MPG. He also shot a staggering .778 FG% in his four games.

Sacramento Kings vs Utah Jazz Preview
After salvaging two impressive wins against West teams, the Kings came crashing back to earth with a loss against the Mavs. Sacramento did try to stage a comeback in the closing minutes, but the Mavs fended off the late rally with key plays down the stretch. Richaun Holmes chalked up a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Harrison Barnes continues his impressive form to start the season, recording 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Jazz returns on the winning column after scoring a statement win over the Milwaukee Bucks, 107-95, on Sunday. Conley, who rested in Saturday’s 99-107 loss to the Chicago Bulls, restored order for Utah and contributed 20 points in 30 minutes. Donovan Mitchell led the way with 28 points while Jordan Clarkson fired 15 off the bench.
The Kings head into the final stop of a four-game road schedule before they kick off a four-game homestand on Wednesday. On the other hand, the Jazz will play a trio of Southeast Division teams on the road right after this one-game stop at Vivint Arena.

Sacramento Kings vs Utah Jazz Predictions
The Kings are looking to avenge an earlier loss to the Jazz, 110-101. Barnes tallied 25 points and 15 rebounds in 38 minutes of play in the game. Unfortunately, that performance proved not enough to overcome the Jazz, which saw massive double-double numbers (17 points and 20 rebounds) from Rudy Gobert. Mitchell paced his team in scoring with 27 points, while Conley and Clarkson chipped in 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Unless Sacramento finds a way to solve the Stifle Tower and the Jazz’ suffocating defense, a repeat of an earlier loss seems inevitable. Utah are a top-10 team across all major defensive categories, including 3rd in the league in points allowed per game and 1st in defending the three-ball. This defense poses a big problem for the Kings, who don’t shoot well from three to begin with at 31.7 percent.
Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz Betting Picks
Moneyline and ATS: Jazz (-9) book another double-digit win vs. the Kings.
O/U: With the way Utah are clamping down opponents, hoping the total to surpass 222 points is a tall order. Pick UNDER.
