Porzingis leaves game vs. Wizards

With less than four minutes to go in the second quarter, Kristaps Porzingis signaled to the bench for a sub and walked directly back to the locker room.

At halftime, the team officially listed him questionable with heel pain in his right foot. He has not returned to the floor in the third quarter after hitting 5 of 6 from the field for 11 points and finishing with a pair of rebounds and assists in just over 11 minutes of play.

It’s important to note that the injury is to his right foot, not the left that he had surgery on over the summer.

After the game, Porzingis said, “I banged up my heel a little bit in the first quarter at some point. I kept on playing. It’s not that major honestly. It’s more of a precautionary thing. The second one, it was pretty sensitive. I told the medical staff and they just pulled me out of the game. I don’t think it’s anything major.”

The Celtics have four days off before facing the Bulls in Boston on Thursday and then again on Saturday night in Chicago.
