Casey, 64, has extensive coaching experience at the collegiate and professional levels.
In 2018, Casey was named Coaches Association Coach of the Year and the NBA Coach of the Year – but was fired by Toronto Raptors’ President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri after failing to advance past the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs.
Casey was then hired to a five-year deal by the Pistons.
The Pistons have been mired in a rebuild for the past few years – but seem to be happy with Casey’s leadership; evidence by them signing Casey to a contract extension through 2024.
