The Laker Girls are the most renowned cheerleading squad in the NBA. When Jerry Buss acquired the Lakers in 1979, he made sure to include a dance team in his Showtime philosophy. This team quickly became an integral part of the Lakers’ experience. Successful dancers and singers like Paula Abdul started their careers as Laker Girl.
