Free-agent guard P.J. Dozier is signing a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, per a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Dozier, 25, tore the ACL in his left knee back in November, which sidelined him for most of the 2021-22 NBA season.
In 2020-21, Dozier averaged 7.7 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Denver Nuggets.
Dozier is a solid offensive player, but mediocre three-point shooter; shooting just 32% from beyond the arc in his career.
D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Edwards will surely be ahead of Dozier in the Timberwolves’ rotation.
Dozier will likely compete for minutes with Bryn Forbes, Wendell Moore Jr., Jaylen Nowell, and Austin Rivers.
