Officials Admit Kevin Durant Should Have Been Ejected From Pacers’ Game

NBA officials admitted after the Brooklyn Nets’ 105-98 victory over the Indiana Pacers that Kevin Durant should have been ejected for throwing the ball into the stands.

The incident in question took place in the third quarter when Durant was fouled in transition by T.J. McConnell.

Durant was assessed a technical foul – but officials later said he should have been ejected from the game.

“In real time, the official that made the call did not think the ball entered the stands with force,” crew chief Sean Wright said after the game, via Yahoo Sports.

“After seeing the video postgame, we did see that the ball did go into the stands with force and Kevin Durant should have been ejected.”

Indiana Pacers’ head coach Rick Carlisle was none too happy with the officials’ decision to keep Durant in the game.

When asked to extrapolate on the play, Carlise said “I don’t want to embarrass the officials. I don’t want to embarrass the league.”
